First Rate Partners with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) San Diego/Baja to Provide New Homes in Mexico
First Rate continues a sixteen-year tradition this weekend by traveling to Tijuana to partner with the Homes of Hope program run by Youth with a Mission (YWAM) San Diego/Baja to construct new homes for impoverished families in the Northern Baja region of Mexico.
“At First Rate, we really are committed to giving back, and to First Rate Living founded on our values of Love, Give, Serve and Enjoy,” said First Rate CEO and Founder Dave Stone. “What better way to demonstrate our values than by stepping out of our comfort zone and giving our time, talents and treasure to help others.”
YWAM San Diego/Baja began in 1991 in response to the needs of a growing impoverished population in the Northern Baja region of Mexico. The first team visited in 1988, and since then nearly 60,000 volunteers have served and helped over 190,000 people via community service projects within the Northern Baja Region. The Homes of Hope program has impacted thousands of children living in the Baja region, providing benefits in every area of a child’s life: social, economic, health and education.
First Rate employees and clients have the opportunity to participate in the Homes of Hope program each spring over the Memorial Day holiday. The desire to help comes from First Rate’s commitment to First Rate Living and as a reflection of First Rate’s faith in and out of the workplace.
“I am so thankful that God gave Youth with a Mission the vision to develop the Homes of Hope program,” said Stone. “As homes continue to be built, thousands of lives are being transformed and the world is being made a better place. First Rate is proud to play a role, especially since it expresses what we are all about. We invite other organizations to take on a role as well.”

About YWAM’s Homes of Hope
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) San Diego/Baja was founded by Sean & Janet Lambert in October 1991. The organization grew in response to the needs they recognized in the Northern Baja region of Mexico. From a small beginning in which thirty young people participated in a single house building trip, YWAM San Diego/Baja is now hosting thousands of volunteers annually. Since its inception, the Homes of Hope program has impacted thousands of children living in the Baja region as their families have become home recipients.
