General Manager, Service Bureau
Marshall Smith CIPM, Managing Director of Service Bureau, has been with First Rate since 2006. In this role he oversees Service Bureau, the business line responsible for clients that outsource their performance processing function, develops and maintains client relationships, and develops strategic planning for all Service Bureau operations.
Smith has contributed strategic and operational direction for client specific SMA and UMA reporting schemes, multi-currency interfaces, standard auditing practices and operational procedures for First Rate. In 2010, he completed the requisite study and exams for the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM).
Smith has served in multiple positions within the Service Bureau department since joining First Rate, including Investment Performance Auditor, Performance Analyst and Operations Supervisor. Most recently, Marshall has served as a Client Service Manager within Service Bureau where he maintained many of First Rate’s current client relationships and oversaw the team of outsourcing professionals.
Smith graduated from Dartmouth College where he studied economics and religion. He serves the community through The Village Church in Dallas as a Sunday School teacher and Home Group leader.
